On December 18, in order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Eighth Fifth Plenary Session and the central poverty alleviation and development work conference, to enhance the level of information infrastructure in former Central Soviet Area (Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong), and to accelerate the process of informatization and modernization in rural areas, under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance, Guangdong Provincial People's Government, Fujian Provincial People's Government, Jiangxi Provincial People's Government, China Telecom and Guangdong Nufront CSC Co., Ltd. signed the “framework agreement to promote the application of ultra-high-speed wireless LAN pilot in former Central Soviet Area" in Beijing. Zhu Xiaodan, governor of Guangdong Province, Yu Weiguo, acting governor of Fujian Province, Lu Xinshe, governor of Jiangxi Province, Chang Xiaobing, chairman of China Telecom, and Bao Dongshan, chairman of Guangdong Nufront CSC Co., Ltd. signed the agreement. Liu Kun, the vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance witnessed the signing of the agreement.
Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong provinces has always attached great importance to and vigorously promote the information infrastructure. However, due to objective factors such as scattered households, weak foundation and lagging economic development in rural areas, the information infrastructure of the three provinces, especially the former Soviet Central Area, still has some problems such as low coverage rate and low overall level, which can not meet the local rural and farmers production and living needs, restricting the development of informatization and modernization in rural areas. After signing the agreement, Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong provinces, China Telecom and Nufront will adhere to innovation, coordination, green, open and shared development concept, work closely to co-ordinate the deployment of ultra-high-speed wireless LAN application pilot action in suitable administrative villages in former Soviet Central Area, supported by Nufront’s completely independent intellectual property rights of the new generation of high-speed broadband wireless mobile communication system, with the advantages of China Telecom and other telecom operators, to provide low cost, high performance wireless Internet coverage, to solve the problem of wireless broadband Internet access, let the majority of rural users share high quality Internet services.
In the future, Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong provinces, China Telecom and Nufront on one hand will sum up the Central Soviet pilot experience to create conditions to promote ultra-high-speed wireless LAN technology and services to all three rural areas gradually. On the other hand, through the pilot application of ultra-high-speed wireless LAN application in rural areas, combined with industrial applications of high-speed rail, urban rail transit, intelligent transportation and intelligent cities in the relevant provinces, driving provincial communication technology, chip technology, base stations and routers and other equipment production, the depth of system integration research and development and industrial upgrading.
